IIT DELHI Indian Institute of Technology, New Delhi has been one of the constant with the top ratings for Indian Colleges. The campus is stretch over 320 acres in the heart of South Delhi. Lavish localities like Hauz Khas, Vasant Kunj and Safdarjung enclave surround the college. High end shopping places and theatres like Select Citywalk, Promenade, Priya , Hauz Khas Village are proximal and well accessible with local autos and buses. The nearest Metro station is Hauz Khas (yellow line) that is directly linked to NDLS , Chandni Chowk , DU north campus and Connaught place. Futher the campus is mainly divided into three zones: the Academic area, the Girls’ hostel and faculty residence area and the Boys’ hostel area. There are several bustle activities like the cultural clubs of IITD including Debating, Quizzing, Literary, Dance, Drama and Fine Arts, Rendezvous one of the largest college festival of north India with thousands of students. Also sports is also taken very seriously here, there are separate hockey, cricket and football fields and courts for basketball, squash, lawn tennis and badminton. Almost every hostel has got Table Tennis tables, badminton and basketball courts and a gym. BSW, i.e. the Board of Students Welfare, is a board of elected students that have the responsibility of representing students before the administration and put forward students’ needs. Also BSW assigns a mentor( a 3rd yearite) to each student. She/he is to guide you in academic as well as non-academic matters throughout the first year. BSW organizes a fun festival, Esperanza in September. Also there is zero tolerance towards ragging at IITD and you can directly approach your mentor for help. IIT Delhi offers degree courses such as B.Tech programs in various fields as well as integrated courses such as B.Tech-cum-M.Tech programs, to which admissions are done through Joint Entrance Examination (JEE)– Advanced held every year. IITD also offers postgraduate programs awarding M.Tech(by coursework), M.S (by research), M.Sc., M.Des.(Master of Design), and MBA under various departments and centres. The admission processes for different programs are: M.Tech – Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE), M.Des – Common Entrance Examination for Design (CEED), M.Sc. – Joint Admission Test for Masters(JAM), MBA – Common Admission Test (CAT). In March 2018, IIT Delhi started a new Department of Design to boost the field of Research and Development. One of the main features of IIT Delhi is Co-curricular and Academic Interaction Council (CAIC), it conducts the annual technical fest of IIT Delhi, Tryst. The co-curricular activities under the CAIC are Robotics Club, Automobile Club, Technocracy, and Entrepreneurship Development Cell. IIT Delhi offers several Scholarship Programs like Research Assistant-ship, Institute Merit-cum- Means Scholarships, Teaching/Research Assistantship, etc. there are some of technological organization working in IIT Delhi which is Association for Computing Machinery, Entrepreneurship Development Cell, E- Summit, Technological Business Incubation Unit and several Inter- Disciplinary Centers. Talking about the placements, recruiters companies from all over the world are being witnessed by IIT Delhi. Companies like Apple, facebook, Flipkart , etc.are some of them. The alumni have acquired prestigious positions in almost every field from engineering to finance to management to arts. In conclusion, it gives people confidence. The confidence level significantly shot up in almost all aspects of people’s life, be it academically or socially, as a result of which people are willing to explore new avenues and challenges. IIT Delhi is home to brilliant and highly-dedicated people with varying academic interests. It is easier to find dedicated people having the same research interests as you. Plus the quality of faculties and the facilities that IIT provide are second to none. You are thus bound to succeed sooner or later in your research endeavors if you are hard-working among such passionate and brilliant minds. Not all IITians get into the engineering field after graduating, they go for MBA, Civil Services, Entrepreneurship and what not .This diasporas of IITians is thus spread out and far-reaching and come in handy for each other in the future.
